That’s always nice to hear right?

Let’s be honest, have you been looking for a new workout routine that you can add? Pilates once a week might become your bestie!

What is Pilates?

Pilates is a strength based workout designed to work your entire body in just one session. Yes girl, one session is all it takes! Its sole focus is your core but still does what it needs to in both your arms and legs.

Pilates isn’t something you need to replace with something you love doing, in other words you can do this before a cardio or HIIT workout. Your choice.

Adding a 45 minute pilates workout weekly will better you in so many different ways. Not only with all the great benefits but also just your well being as an individual.

You get so tied up with life and responsibilities, you tend to forget about taking care of yourself. This is something that can relieve some stress. Believe it or not, you are not alone in this.

Who can Benefit from Pilates

Do you think you have to be super flexible and active; in order to benefit from pilates once a week?

If that’s what your thinking…. No ma’am! Anyone can benefit, and yup you heard correctly… Anyone. You can be THAT GIRL and get in shape with just pilates once a week.

The benefits are insane. It’s a killer workout but doesn’t take much at all.

Pilates are not only for people with great balance and coordination or just athletes. This is an exercise that anyone can try or incorporate at least once a week.

The best part about it, is that you can customize it to your liking that aligns best with your health, wellness and fitness goals. This isn’t something you have to do everyday unless you choose to.

Do you want to find a workout that eases your mind and helps you acquire a feeling of peace?

You may have stressful days that make you want to do nothing, but with the help of pilates once a week you get to relax and take your mind off everything around you and just focus on healing both your mind and body.

Is Once a Week Pilates Enough?

Pilates once a week is more than enough. Not only does it improve flexibility and core strength but it also helps reduce stress and tension on your body.

Incorporating pilates once a week in your everyday life can offer an abundance of health benefits.

Did you know that in 2023, the pilates market is expected to reach $11.8 billion. That is insane. Pilates is such a big thing, and is known to be credited to COVID-19.

A study showed Pilates has been shown to improve mood and self-efficacy”.

Pilates is now a trending exercise globally due to the TikTok girlies. They make it so easy to not want to try when it’s displayed all throughout different social media platforms.

There is a misconception of pilates being “too easy” when that is not the case at all. It actually can be very demanding. Yoga and pilates are two different things.

Again, yoga and pilates are two different things. This is something that tends to get a little confusing. They have similarities but they also have major differences.

It’s not all about the fancy equipment

All you need is a yoga mat, a device and you will be set.

You can have pilates right in the comfort of your home. Which goes to show, it can be done easily. You can stream it right from your phone or TV.

You can also attend a pilates class where you will use a reformer machine for resistance. They have their pros and cons.

But you can find pilates classes all over the internet. Youtube is a great source to narrow down to find your fav.

Exercising at home can be fun and inexpensive because not only are you in your own space but you also are saving those coins.

And just to reiterate, its only pilates once a week that you’re adding to your routine.

Typically many studios allow you to attend your first class for free but after that, pull out the coins.

Definitely try that first class to get a feel for a trainer and be able to use the equipment.

Now sis, there should be no reason why you haven’t started when it is so inexpensive to do so.

What does Lori Harvey Have to say about it?

Lori sent the TikTok girlies in a frenzy when she admitted her secret to her sculpted abs.

In a red carpet interview with ESSENCE Beauty and Style Editor Black Newby, she revealed that her snatched waist and abs were none other than pilates.

She wasn't a gatekeeper at all. Incorporating pilates once a week in your weekly routine will make a huge difference.

As a matter of fact, there are many youtube girlies trying out her pilates workout routine and getting amazing results.

If you want to start off with a beginner friendly workout, that is totally okay. Youtube is a great source for the girlies who don’t know where to start, have zero equipment, or would like to try an intermediate class.
