One of the most remarkable initiatives is the Rare Beauty Impact Fund, founded by Selena Gomez in 2020. 

The fund has provided grants to organizations that focus on mental health, funded research into treatments and medications, raised awareness of mental health issues, and provided resources for those in need.

The Rare Beauty Impact Fund has had a positive impact on the beauty community, as it is dedicated to helping those with mental health issues find support and resources.

With Rare Beauty’s commitment of donating 1% of all sales to the Rare Impact Fund, this has provided resources for individuals to access help and treatment for mental health issues and fund research into mental health treatments. 

Offering a Free 24/7 Text-Support Service for those in crisis, they also fully support other organizations such as The Trevor Project - the world’s largest suicide prevention organization for LGBTQ youth, the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline, and even the United for Global Mental Health.

The fund has raised awareness about mental health issues through campaigns such as #MentalHealth101, which has helped to spread the message that mental health is a lifelong journey and those experienceing a mental health crisis, have resources available with trained professionals ready to support them. 

The Rare Beauty Impact Fund has also provided grants to organizations like Mental Health America and jack.org, a Canadian-based charity program that trains and empowers young leaders to make revolutionary impacts in mental health. 

 

How Much has the Rare Beauty Impact Fund Raised

 

Selena Gomez has always been passionate about making a positive difference in the world and advocating for mental health. 

Since its launch in 2020, the Rare Beauty Impact Fund has raised an impressive amount of money to help those suffering from mental health issues find support and resources. 

In just 2021, they announced in their yearly Social Impact Report that the Fund has awarded over $1.2 million in grants, gathered over 68,000 signatures, and shared mental health content with their community of over 3 million individuals - all through their launch of #MentalHealth101 campaign in honor of Mental Health Awareness Month. 

By providing grants, funding research, raising awareness, and providing resources, the Rare Beauty Impact Fund has been successful in making a positive impact on mental health awareness.

The money raised through the fund has helped to make the beauty community a more welcoming and supportive environment for those with mental health issues. 

They are consistently activating the community by leading industry-wide efforts to prioritize mental health not only in the workplace but also in the beauty industry. 

Working with the National Alliance on Mental Illness, with the goal of certifying their company as “StigmaFree” and creating a “culture of openness and acceptance about [their] overall well-being,” they have reached over 13.1 million individuals with 83,132 engagements, and a total of 3 million campaign audiences (Social Impact Report 2021).

The launch of this fund has had a positive effect on Rare Beauty's Brand Marketing Strategy as it has had a tremendous impact on the marketing of Rare Beauty products.

The fund has helped bring awareness to the unique and special ways in which Rare Beauty products can enhance people’s lives. 

Through its various initiatives, they have helped to create a market for Rare Beauty products, allowing customers to experience the joy of discovering something new and different.

This includes their Rare Impact exclusive launch of the — Lip Soufflé Matte Lip Cream in Kindness — selling out in just 8 days with 100% of its proceeds going towards the Rare Impact Fund. 

With this, they were also able to kick off the launch of their Rare Acts of Kindness campaign which allowed Rare Beauty’s community to share their own personal stories and experiences with their mental health journey. 

This has helped to bring Rare Beauty products to the forefront of social media conversations, allowing customers to see and experience these products in a new and exciting way.

They are dedicated to continuing its mission of helping to spread the word about Rare Reauty products and create a thriving market for them. 

As awareness and appreciation for Rare Beauty products continues to grow, The Rare Beauty Impact Fund will continue to be a major player in the industry, helping to ensure that customers can enjoy the benefits of these products for years to come.
