International Women’s Day 2023

[Austin, TX] March 8th, 2023 — It's that time of year again – International Women's Day 2023!

A day dedicated to celebrating the amazing accomplishments of women and pushing for gender equality around the world.

And while we should always strive to honor and uplift women, it's nice to have a day specifically set aside for the cause.

One way that brands are honoring International Women's Day 2023, is by featuring inspiring stories of women who have made an impact.

Sephora, for example, will be sharing stories of female brand founders, employees, beauty advisors, and partners who represent their collective power and commitment to embracing equity.

Hershey's and Girls on the Run are back at it again! This dynamic duo is on a mission to empower women and help them see their incredible potential.

They teamed up to create the awesome Hershey's SHE bars, which feature over 200 powerful adjectives.

And get this, those adjectives were chosen with the help of Girls on the Run coaches and participants. They asked them to describe an amazing woman who has had a huge impact on their lives.

Nike is also getting in on the action this International Women's Day 2023 with their Air Jordan shoe release.

The shoe features the purple color synonymous with Women's Day and motivational messages on the toe-box such as "Unity" and "Equality."

We can't wait to see women rock these shoes and the positive messages they bear. They’re so cute!

Apple is doing their part by launching a new Apple Watch activity challenge for International Women's Day 2023.

Participants who complete a 20-minute workout will unlock a badge in the app and a series of virtual animated stickers that can be displayed in their Apple Message and FaceTime apps.

Elemis is taking a charitable approach this International Women’s Day 2023, by pledging to donate 10% of their Pro-Collagen Rose Marine Cream sales to the #ChangeAGirlsLife campaign.

This campaign supports young women through The Prince's Trust, helping them overcome challenges and changing their lives for the better.

Fabletics is also getting involved by offering a free, limited-edition tank with every purchase from March 7-9.

They're also donating $20k to EmpowerHER, an organization that supports children who have experienced the loss of a parent.

Barbie is celebrating International Women's Day 2023, by honoring women leaders in STEM with one-of-a-kind role model dolls made in their likeness.

Barbie knows that access to successful female role models in STEM is essential for children to build and maintain an interest in the industry.

“Barbie is dedicated to showcasing women who are role models from all backgrounds, professions, and nationalities so that girls around the world can see themselves in careers that might not always seem as accessible,” said Lisa McKnight, Executive Vice President and Global Head of Barbie & Dolls, Mattel.

Last but certainly not least, UGG, the iconic brand known for its cozy footwear is also getting involved. This year, UGG is introducing the Scrunchita, the cozy-cool slide of the season.

Featuring a scrunched and puffed silhouette, a soft lining, and a comforting outsole of foam, Scrunchita is the all-day slide to love.

But that's not all – for each pair of Scrunchita in Pale Chartreuse purchased on UGG.com from March 8 to March 31, 2023, UGG will donate $20 to further support Kiva, an international nonprofit that accelerates financial inclusion by providing microloans to entrepreneurs.

These shoes are available in pale chartreuse (see below), taffy pink, sunny yellow and black.

It's heartwarming to see these brands using their platform to honor and uplift women. Hopefully we will see even more brand campaigns today!

And while International Women's Day is just one day out of the year, let's keep the celebration going every day and continue to push for gender equality around the world.

Happy International Women's Day 2023, and remember who runs the world? WE DO!
